PLENDIL
Plendil Information
Plendil is a popular drug that is more commonly known under the
generic name of Felodipine. This product belongs to a wide class of
medicines that have been named calcium channel blockers. Such drugs
are able to widen (relax) the patient’s blood vessels (arteries and
veins), reducing the heart’s workload, making it easier for the
heart to pump.
Plendil Indications
Plendil is a well known calcium channel
blocker that is generally prescribed in the treatment of
hypertension. However, this medicine could also serve some other
purposes that have not been listed here.
Plendil Warnings
It is strictly forbidden to end your treatment with this product
without your personal physician’s approval, even if you feel better
after a few days of intake, as this could have severe and harmful
effects. During your treatment with Plendil you should floss and
brush your teeth on a regular basis, as some patients who have been
treated with this medicine have experienced swelling of the gums
(this side effect can be easily avoided by maintaining a proper oral
hygiene).
Before you start to follow a treatment with Plendil you should
alert your personal health care specialist if you are suffering
from:
- liver disorders;
- blood vessel or heart disease.
Patients who have any of the medical conditions that have been
listed above might not be allowed to start taking Plendil or should
be given lower doses of this medicine. Furthermore, they should
undergo regular medical exams during their treatment with Plendil in
order for their personal doctor to properly monitor their medical
condition.
Plendil is a category C FDA pregnancy drug. Therefore, it has not
been clearly determined whether a treatment with this product during
pregnancy could severely harm a growing fetus or not. If you are
pregnant, you should ask for your physician’s approval to start
taking Plendil. It has not been determined whether this medicine’s
main ingredients can pass into the patient’s breast milk or not.
However, if you are nursing a child, you should ask for your
personal physician’s consent to start taking Plendil.
Plendil Intake Guidelines
You should ask your personal health care provider to give you
precise directions regarding how and when to take Plendil. If you
have any other questions regarding your intake of this medicine you
should ask your doctor, a nurse or a pharmacist for further details.

product.
Each dose of Plendil should be accompanied by a glass of liquid.
Although this medicine is not supposed to be a stomach irritant, you
should try to take it with a light meal or at least with milk. It is
forbidden to break, chew or crush the tablets, as it is important to
swallow them as a whole. They have been especially designed to
gradually release their ingredients into the organism. A treatment
with this product is known to harmfully interact with grapefruit
(this also includes grapefruit juice), leading to several
potentially severe effects. Store this medicine in a cool and dry
place, away from heat and moisture. Do not keep it in the bathroom
or near the kitchen sink. Try to put it in a place that cannot be
easily reached by either pets or children.
